Winslow Tigers (Inspirational Acknowledgement)
The team name "Tigers" was inspired by and derived from the team name
Tigerbelles which was proudly represented by several of America's former
best female athletes from Tennessee State University.  Those athletes
included Mae Faggs Starr, Wyomia Tyus, Edith McGuire, Madeline Manning,
Barbara Jones, Martha Hudson, Lucinda Williams, Chandra Cheeseborough
and Wilma Rudolph.  All of whom were gold medal winners for the United
States of America for efforts they exhibited in the Olympics.  It is as
a result of their inspirational accomplishments, dedication and
commitment to achieve excellence in athletics and academics that the Winslow
Tigers are so named.  Accordingly, the Winslow Tigers thank all of the
Tigerbelles identified herein for setting standards that give us a mark
to aim for in athletics, academics and in life.
